Ear cleaning, or at least inspection, is part of the day to day routine for bloodhounds.
Predisposing factors such as pendulous ears can lead to bacterial infections, but primary causes, secondary causes and perpetuating factors can all play a part
What can we do to reduce ear disorders?
There are so many factors involved, from ear shape to allergies and lifestyle, that educating new owners on how to check, clean and then recognise a problem, is the best way forward.
